The Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is an Indian government scheme that provides financial support to new micro-enterprises and small businesses. Implemented by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), it offers subsidized loans with a government subsidy of 15%–35% based on the applicant’s category and location. Under PMEGP, entrepreneurs can avail loans up to ₹10 lakh for the service sector and up to ₹25 lakh for the manufacturing sector. The scheme is open to individuals above 18 years old, with no income limit, aiming to promote self-employment and rural entrepreneurship in India.
